Following the successful completion of the 3rd Doctoral Training School, Mahdi Hasanzade, Lucija Drempetić, Gian Paolo Currà, Troy Baker, Arne Geldof, Júlio Santos of the MAESTRI consortium participated in the 17th International Conference on Magnetic Fluids (ICMF17), held in Vienna, Austria, from 6-10 July 2026. As the MAESTRI doctoral candidate at the University of Vienna, Júlio contributed to the organization of the conference alongside his supervisor Prof. Sofia Kantorovich, and colleagues from the university.
ICMF17 brought together leading researchers from around the world to present the latest advances in magnetic fluids, magnetoactive materials, ferroic systems, and related applications. The conference provided an excellent platform for MAESTRI doctoral candidates and their supervisors (Prof. Irena Drevenšek Olenik, Prof. Darja Lisjak, Prof. Matteo Cianchetti) to showcase their research, engage with the international scientific community, and establish new collaborations.

The conference concluded with outstanding recognition for the MAESTRI consortium. During the poster competition, two MAESTRI researchers received the conference’s top poster awards, with Arne Geldof winning the 1st Prize and Lucija Drempetić the 2nd Prize. This exceptional achievement highlights the scientific excellence of the research carried out within the MAESTRI Doctoral Network and reflects the high quality of the training provided throughout the project.
