On September 4-5, 2025, the first in a series of international conferences “Magnetic Soft Matter for Robotics” took place at the premises of the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics (FMF), University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. The initiative for this new series of conferences was created within the framework of the EU Marie Skłodowska-Curie MAESTRI doctoral network (project no. 101119614), and its goal is to create a dedicated platform for connecting researchers within the newly emerging research area of applications of magnetic soft matter for robotics, which is very promising for breakthrough technologies in the near future. The aforementioned conference series will serve as a forum for researchers from various disciplines and industrial sectors, where they will be able to meet in person, exchange ideas and present their latest achievements in the field.

The conference was attended by 32 participants from 6 countries, fostering an international exchange of ideas and expertise. The scientific program included 5 invited lectures, 11 oral presentations and 13 poster presentations. The abstracts of all contributions were published in the official Book of Abstracts. The posters were on display for participants throughout the entire conference, which sparkled lively discussions not only during the dedicated poster session but also throughout informal gatherings such as coffee breaks. On Thursday, September 4, a conference dinner was organized in a charming riverside restaurant in the city center, offering participants a relaxed atmosphere to continue conversations and strengthen professional ties.
